I was going to say this is beautiful and I love it, and I noticed two others have already said that. But more is always better! Thank you for sharing this lovely story.
Liz, this is beautiful and heartfelt. I clicked on this post for the subhed. Yes! "The hard thing is rarely the end of the story." So true. And by coincidence, I used the horse/broken leg parable as the meditation in my yoga class yesterday. "Is change good or bad? Maybe it's just change." I'm glad to have found you via the Midstory meetup!
I love this so much! It’s great to read your writing again, and hear how life has come full-circle in so many unexpected ways. Thank you for sharing your beautiful words. ❤️
Also, to your recent note about the pressure to be visible, taking almost a year away was also what I needed. I no longer needed to process my grief as I was living it, and the posting felt like something I “should” do vs something I looked forward to. I needed some private space to be messy for a while. After some time away, writing a post this week effortless again, like it did in the beginning when I wrote for the sake of writing.
I'll be the fourth to say it again: this was beautiful. Welcome back, Liz!
Hi! And I just saw that you’re going to be at Writeshop tomorrow?? If so, I’ll see you there!

I will never get tired of hearing it’s beautiful and I love it! Thanks for stopping by.

It’s such a good parable! Especially because I so automatically dislike change. Nice to meet you and thanks for the kind words.

Thank you! I so appreciated your nudge to come back to Substack, it hit right when I needed it to.
